Benefits of Exfoliation & Therapeutic Body Treatments

1/20/2024

For most people, spa treatments are an unnecessary luxury but what if they were wrong? Yes, the elite may splurge on spa treatments but it's for a good reason.

When you request a spa day you have requested to be assisted in bettering your own health. First, you'll be sprayed with warm water then either a sugar scrub will be placed on your skin, salt will be placed or you'll be scrubbed with a loofah pad. This allows for the dead dry skin on the surface of the skin to be removed allowing for the new skin to show. Having an exfoliation treatment also allows the mud's nutrients to better be absorbed.

5 reasons that pregnant women have back and hip pain

9/26/2023

5. lifting and holding too heavy

More often than none, pregnant women do too much.

4. abnormal Muscle use

When your body changes, you will use your muscles in new ways.

3. Growing uterus

As your baby grows it takes up space and causes the rest of the body to shift out of its way. Your uterus growing inside of you shifts your center of gravity, stretches out your abdominal muscles and weakens them. Thus effecting your overall posture and causes strain to your back.

2. Progesterone

Progesterone relaxes muscles in the pelvis to allow the pelvic floor muscles to let the baby move through the pelvis.

1. Relaxin

Relaxin is a hormone that is secreted every time you ovulate. This is because your body anticipates you getting pregnant every time that you ovulate but goes away when you do not conceive. When you become pregnant relaxin continues to secrete your entire pregnancy, allowing your joints to move freely, in hopes of making delivery of the baby easier. (Relaxin helps your hips widen and shift to allow the baby's body to move through the pelvis). In doing so, your joints may ache.

Massages are nice and therapeutic on their own but you can enhance your spa day even more with body treatments. Body treatments are good for rejuvenating skin, reducing acne, detoxing the body, and more.  Here are three spa treatments that may enhance your spa day:

French Clay with Seaweed Mud Cocoon
Most mud cocoons hydrate dry skin. This cocoon also smooths skin and detoxifies the body.

Hot Stone Massage
Do you carry a lot of tension in your body? Does the thought of an elbow pressing in your shoulder scare you? Try a hot stone massage instead. This massage relaxes deep in the muscles without giving you pain.

Aromatherapy Massage
Essential oils are oils from medicinal plants. Being massaged with these oils smell good and are therapeutic.
